Consumer Tips:
Most insurance and credit card companies will not cover truck rentals under your current policy. This means that you could be responsible for any and all damage to the truck up to the full value of the truck in the event of an accident regardless of fault.

Limited Damage Waiver (LDW):
LDW relieves you of your financial responsibility should any loss or damage occur to the truck or towing equipment, no matter who's at fault. If you decline the LDW and an accident occurs, you will be billed for the full amount of damage.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):
Personal Accident Insurance offers Accidental Death and Medical Expense coverage to Penske renters and their passengers. Personal Accident Insurance could save out-of-pocket expenses for the renter and passengers.

The above limits are subject to a policy aggregate limit of $459,000.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI):
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) protects you against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while you are operating a rental truck.

This coverage is excess over the underlying insurance specified within your signed rental agreement.

Maximum coverage available to you is the difference between the underlying insurance specified within your signed rental agreement and the $1,000,000 SLI limit for bodily injury and property damage which was elected and paid for.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle.

Cargo Insurance:
Cargo Insurance allows renters to protect their furniture and possessions while renting a truck from Penske.

The maximum benefit payable is $15,000 per rental period, less a $100 deductible per occurrence.

With Cargo Insurance, your furniture and possessions are insured, subject to the provisions, limitations and exceptions of the policy, while the items are inside the box of the rental truck, from the time your cargo is loaded in the Penske truck at the point of origin until it is unloaded at the final destination. The cargo is protected against direct and accidental loss caused by: fire, explosion, upset or overturn of the rental truck, collision, windstorm, hail, cyclone, flood due to rising water, tornado or landslide.

Towing Insurance:
Towing coverage provides protection against collision damage during the coverage period for an auto while being attached to, towed by or detached from a covered Penske truck. It also covers an auto being loaded onto, transported by or unloaded from an approved Penske tow dolly or trailer.

Towing coverage is only available if you have purchased and paid for this coverage at the origin of the rental. Towing coverage provides $25,000 maximum limit per occurrence, subject to a $250 deductible.
